Rain, Rain and more Rain

The golf course received around 90 mm of rain mainly overnight Friday and into Saturday morning. Both dams are now over flowing and the course has received a very good soak. The bunkers and a number of the paths have been damaged and will require some repair this week but overall the rain was very welcome. Below are a couple of photo with the water up to the 150 post on the 18th fairway and a river of water flowing out of the main dam under the bridge on the 9th.

New Mower arrives

Our new fairway mower has arrived and is in action cutting the fairways. We are currently cutting the fairways twice a week at 14 mm. There is a noticeable improvement in the cut with the new machine. This will now give us a chance to do an overhaul on the old fairway mower. We have also purchased a used Lastec with 7 floating decks that cuts 11 feet wide and will be used to trim the large areas of rough surrounding fairways, tee carries and other large open areas. Here it is below.
The new fairway mower looks something like this one.
